Hello, my name is Kristina Brewer, and I am relatively new to Merritt, moving here in 2021 with my husband to eventually retire. Not knowing anyone upon relocation, I started volunteering with the Nicola Valley Arts Council.
I have met some really creative and talented people whom I am inspired by daily! I love all types of art including pencil drawing, pyrography, watercolour, acrylics, crocheting, sewing, and so much more. Working with the little creatives teaching the Crafty Kids Class every Wednesday has been so much fun. Their energy and freedom to express reminds us all that Art Has No Rules!
For me, volunteering is very fulfilling - it lets me step out of my routine from the things we need to do into the things we love. Helping people is one of my greatest pleasures, and volunteering at the Arts Center really allows me to help people and be creative at the same time.
Thank you for bringing your talents to the NVCAC, Kristina! We are especially grateful for your work in turning the Artist's Studio at the Arts Centre into a wonderful space.
